Are you as excited as we are for the Retroid Pocket Nova to be released? Well, you’re in luck. Retroid Chris received his Pocket Nova today and has been sharing a bunch of different pictures over on the Retroid Discord and via the official Retroid Twitter account.
He’s even gone so far as to post a bit of gameplay footage, showing off the Pocket Nova playing some F-Zero GX for the GameCube. Unsurprisingly, the Pocket Nova handles F-Zero GX with ease, thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, but it’s still nice to see some actual games being played on the handheld ahead of launch.
Apparently, Chris took things a step further and gave us an idea of what to expect when using the Pocket Nova with Retroid’s Dual Screen Add-on with some Mario Kart 7 for the 3DS. Again, performance looks pretty darn good here, but that’s to kind of be expected with a chip as mature for emulation as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
Oh, is that not enough gameplay footage for you?! What do we have here? Oh nothing, just some God of War 2 for the PS2 on the Pocket Nova.
Last, but certainly not least, over on the Retroid Discord, Chris shared an image comparing the Retroid Pocket Nova to the Pocket Mini and Pocket 6. It’s kind of surprising how close in size the Pocket Nova is to the Mini, but I suppose that’s to be expected when we’re looking at these smaller screen sizes.

I have to admit that while I wish Chris had some of the other color variations to show off, seeing these pictures and videos is getting me even more excited for my Pocket Nova to arrive. What about you? Did these push you over the edge to order one for yourself? Or are you still on the fence about picking one up? Let us know in the comments below!
