In one of the best, actually truthful posts you will see today (check the date), we had a massive update to Henriko Magnifico’s The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D 4K texture pack, bringing it to a full 4.0. This update includes over 350 new high-resolution textures and is available to download now if you are a Patreon subscriber (It’s a minimum of $3 a month. Support your artists).
This update comes shortly after his glorious 3.0 update to Twilight Princess and follows the rumors of a possible official OoT remake from Nintendo. This update only applies to Ocarina of Time 3D for the 3DS, so your emulation options are Azahar and Citra.
Significant Upgrades from 3.0
This update was all-encompassing, but several locations had complete overhauls: Kakariko Village, Lost Woods, the Forest Temple, Inside the Great Deku Tree, Gerudo Valley, Death Mountain, Lon Lon Ranch, Castle Town, Temple of Time, Hyrule Castle, and Hyrule Field.
This texture pack also includes support for Italian languages and a newly designed Hylian Shield. The best real description for the update is summed up below by Henriko:
“As part of my overarching goal to improve quality and consistency in all my texture packs, I took this update as an opportunity to remake many of the in-game textures to look cleaner and more consistent with the original art style. What’s new with this version, however, is that I’ve spent considerable time making sure every single texture added had a noticeable impact on the perceived quality of the area they belong to.”
Henriko has had a significant impact in the texture pack world and continues to push the niche forward with extremely high fidelity and artistically crafted assets to the point where a remake might not seem to be necessary. In any event, this is an awesome texture pack to try out on your AYN Thor! At least 12GB of RAM is recommended.
