On their official Discord, Retroid has released most of the specs for the Retroid Pocket Classic.
A few days ago, we shared that Retroid had shown off the colorways that will be available for the Classic in their full glory. In an update to that post, we shared that the company had given us specs for the screen alone. The screen is going to utilize an AMOLED panel at 3.92 inches, and have a resolution of 1240 x 1080, giving it a nearly 10:9 aspect ratio — the same as found in the AYANEO Pocket DMG.

Speculating About Specs
Retroid did not disclose the chipset being used inside of the device, but otherwise dropped every single meaningful spec.

In the picture shown above, the company mentions that the chip will be a Qualcomm chip measured at 4 nanometers. Comparing the specs versus other information shared, the processor could be between a few different options, but we believe Retroid will choose to utilize the Snapdragon 4 Gen2.
With those assumptions being made, the device will more than likely not be as costly as the AYANEO Pocket DMG.
Low Power with High Expectations
As the device features 4GB of RAM and only 64GB of onboard storage, we can expect that the handheld will assuredly live on the budget-friendly end of handhelds. However, it will still be powerful enough to run Android and emulate the games it’s best suited for — Game Boy and Game Boy Color — while having tons of power to spare.
As time goes on, Retroid continues to drop more information about the Classic and its supposed specs and features. It’s seemingly a return to form for the company, but also lives as a polar opposite to the anger imposed over the Retroid Pocket Mini debacle.
At this rate, we may see the full specs and pre-order details for the Retroid Pocket Classic in the next few days. Even amongst the chaos, Retroid has proven to still be exceedingly calculated in their drip-feed of Classic news.
