If there’s one company you probably forgot about this year, it’s Data Frog. The SF2000 was the talk of the town for a few weeks last year but has been hanging around. However, Stubbs noticed that the SF3000 is now available on AliExpress, looking to offer much more than its predecessor.

SF3000 - Whats in the box

SF3000 Specs

  • Display: 4.5-inch IPS
  • Resolution: 854 x 480
  • Processor: “Dual-core 1.2G”
  • RAM: 2GB DDR3
  • Battery: 3,000mAh (Rated for between 5-7 hours)
  • Ports: USB-C, 3.5mm Audio Jack, microSD Card
  • Extras: OTG, Built-in Kickstand, Desktop Mode, Video Out
  • Software: EmuELEC 4.3

Kicking things off, the SF3000 is equipped with a 4.5-inch IPS display, complete with an 854 x 480 resolution. The actual processor is currently unknown, as the AliExpress listing only shows references to a “Dual-Core 1.2G” chip. This is paired with 2GB of DDR3 RAM, and a microSD card slot.

Supposedly the SF3000 is capable of emulating up to PS1, with support for more than 10 different systems. This would immediately give it a leg up on the SF2000, which struggles with even GBA titles.

Battery life is rated for up to seven hours on a single charge thanks to the 3,000mAh cell packed into this thing. But, the SF3000 has another trick up its sleeve, as it can supposedly double as a portable charger for your smartphone. I probably wouldn’t plug it into my phone, but it’s apparently possible, so long as you’re willing to throw caution to the wind.

There’s not too much to really talk about when it comes to the design, as it’s basically a PSP that you’d find at the bottom of one of Ban’s Bins. However, the SF3000 does include one surprising feature, as there are two kickstands on the back. According to the listing page, this is done to “prevent persistent sweating.”
