Thanks to Kitsune on the Retro Handhelds Discord, it appears that the TrimUI Brick Pro is almost ready for the finish line. In the image shared, the official packaging was revealed, matching up with what we’ve seen previously from TrimUI. The packaging also confirms that the Brick Pro will sport a 3.95-inch display, in addition to stereo speakers, WLAN, “Fast boot”, and USB Type-C.

Given the popularity of the TrimUI Brick and Brick Hammer, many have been waiting with bated breath for the release of the TrimUI Brick Pro. It will be the first vertical handheld from TrimUI to feature a screen larger than the 3.2-inch display of the previous options.

Compared to some of the previously leaked images of the Brick Pro, the design seems to be pretty identical. The only difference that we can really discern is that the “Pro” branding has been added, found just below the bottom left corner of the display and above the D-pad.

In addition to sharing the image of the packaging, Kitsune also seemingly confirmed that the Brick Pro will be available in three different colors: Black, White, and “Retro”. Unfortunately, the packaging only shows the first two color options, leaving us to wonder whether the Retro option will be limited in some capacity. However, this likely won’t be the case, as we’ve yet to see TrimUI go down the path of “special” editions with its previous handhelds.

Nevertheless, with the packaging seemingly finalized, it’s likely now just a matter of TrimUI manufacturing enough first-batch units and then getting the Brick Pro into the hands of suppliers. Hopefully, this really signifies that we’re in the final stretch.

Given the ongoing RAM and storage component shortages that continue to wreak havoc in the handhelds (and tech) space, there is one big question left: How much is the Brick Pro going to cost? Fingers-crossed, it’ll be able to come in around the $100 mark, but if it does, that might mean corners have to be cut elsewhere (i.e., RAM).
