AYN just pushed a fresh OTA for the Thor, and it’s got a few interesting features worth going over.
Headlining the 1.0.0.372 changelog is a new OLED Ultra Black Mode toggle in Odin Settings -> Advanced Settings. This mode is aimed squarely at folks running the Thor at very low brightness with dark mode on, where OLED panels can show color shifting and the classic “mura” blotchiness on dark gray backgrounds (think PS Vita 1000). Flip it on, and the system leans harder into true blacks instead of near-black shades, which helps even out the panel and makes those dim-night sessions look cleaner and less patchy.
The update also tackles a handful of long‑running annoyances. First, there’s a fix for a battery bug introduced in a previous firmware, where the gauge would incorrectly report 1% remaining even when there was still a bit of charge left in the tank.
For usability, AYN has added support for automatically binding the Home/Return buttons to whichever touchscreen is currently active, or to the focus‑locked screen. On a dual‑screen device like the Thor, that should make navigation between top and bottom displays more predictable, especially when you’re juggling a game on one screen and a guide or launcher on the other.
Finally, the OTA fixes the on‑screen volume slider misbehaving with both Bluetooth earbuds and wired headphones. After updating, changing volume from the UI should correctly track output regardless of whether you’re plugged in or wireless.
All told, it’s a tidy little firmware pass. Cleaner blacks on OLED, more honest battery reporting, saner navigation, and audio controls that behave the way they should.
