A new wave of Sega-themed mini arcade machines is headed our way in 2026, which is exactly the kind of news that makes a certain corner of the community excited and afraid for their shelf space. These units build on My Arcade’s existing micro line and lean heavily into nostalgia for the Genesis and Mega Drive era.
The collection focuses on classic Sega-associated titles like OutRun, presented in compact cabinet form factors with distinct artwork and branding. Each unit is designed to evoke the look of its original arcade or console counterpart, rather than feeling like a generic mold with different stickers. While they share a broadly similar silhouette, the minis differ in marquee art, side panel designs, and control layouts, giving collectors an incentive to line several of them up together.
These machines straddle the line between functional hardware and pure display pieces. They are fully playable, but their real power is how they look when clustered next to other minis and retro gear. For me, I’ll be living a childhood dream of having an OutRun cabinet (with steering wheel!) and a Golden Axe cabinet next to my desk, guaranteeing future productivity writing up articles like this one.
For arcade enthusiasts, Sega nostalgics, or people with terrible spending habits, this new batch fits neatly into that familiar category of “no one needs these, but they sure are hard to resist.” If your shelves are already crowded, Sega and My Arcade are not going to help your self-control one bit.
