When Retroid first announced its Pocket Flip 2, there was a D1100 option alongside the SD865. This was offered as a cheaper option, but there has been little to no news about this until now.
Release Date
According to the Retroid Discord, Chris posted that the D1100 version of the Flip 2 will go on preorder starting at 9:00 AM Beijing time on July 9th. This will be at 9:00 PM EST on July 8th (today)!

For the first 3 days, the D1100 Flip 2 will be $20 off and then it’ll go down to $10 off until August 9th. So if you don’t want to be an early adopter for this device, you can still wait and get a discount later.
Unlike many preorders, the Flip 2 D1100 is expected to start shipping on July 11th! That is a very quick turnaround; however, it was originally believed these would release alongside the SD865 version, but it is still good to see it (possibly) start shipping early.
Why This?
The point of a less powerful Retroid Pocket Flip 2 may seem trivial for some, but may be a dream come true for others. The price of it being $199 (before the $20 and $10 coupons) be $299 is one highlight. So if you didn’t t want to spend so much on the Flip 2 and don’t care about losing some performance on harder-to-run games, this is what you may have been waiting for!
