RetroAchievements is officially waggling its way into the Wii era, and there’s a months-long launch event to prove it. Support for Nintendo’s motion-controlled box has gone live on RetroAchievements, with an organized community event running from March 19 to July 19, 2026.
The rollout adds full RA integration for Wii titles, letting you earn community-made cheevos in your favorite motion-control nonsense when played via supported emulators like Dolphin. According to the announcement, you’ll need a recent Dolphin build (minimum version 2603) for Wii achievements and Hardcore support to work correctly. Once set up, Wii games in your library get proper achievement badges, at least for standard disc formats like ISO and RVZ, with WiiWare WAD support still being ironed out.
To mark the launch, RetroAchievements is running a four-month Wii event focused on “waggle” classics, with points awarded for beats, masters, and bounties across a curated list of games. Hit certain score thresholds, and you’ll earn exclusive badges at Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Grandmaster tiers, a pretty neat way to celebrate 20 years of Nintendo Wii. Read the event details below:
