The last time we heard from Anbernic was a teaser trailer for its first dual-screen device, the Anbernic RG DS. Not much has been happening in the weeks since then, as China’s “Golden Week” holiday began on October 1.

With the holiday in the rear view mirror, Anbernic decided to drop another little teaser for the RG DS, this time revealing the four different color options. More importantly than that, we now know that Anbernic’s first dual-screen clamshell handheld will cost under $100.

In true Anbernic fashion, this latest trailer didn’t have anything to reveal, meaning that we’ll likely see a trickle of information in the coming days. However, given the sub-$100 price point, it’s probably safe to assume that the RG DS will be powered by the tried and true H700 chip that we’ve seen Anbernic use since the original RG35XX back in 2023.

Nevertheless, as for the color options, the Anbernic RG DS will come in four different flavors: Red, Turquoise, White, and Transparent. Technically, the White looks like it’s using the same colored shell as we’ve seen on the RG406H and RG406V, complete with the colored ABXY buttons.

Lastly, and this one wasn’t in the trailer, but it was in the video thumbnail. But, it seems that Anbernic might be looking to fully embrace the Nintendo DSi-like design here, which includes offering touchscreen/stylus support for at least the bottom screen. That alone would be huge, especially if this is running Anbernic’s custom version of Linux.

As we get closer and closer to seeing the AYN Thor and AYANEO Pocket DS actually ship, it seems that this holiday season is going to be full of dual-screen emulation devices. And yeah, there’s also the OneXSugar if that kind of thing floats your boat. But if Anbernic can deliver a good dual-screen experience for under $100, the RG DS is going to sell like crazy.
