AYANEO has revealed its next flagship device, the AYANEO Pocket S2, and a new tablet, the AYANEO Gaming Pad.
The Pocket S2 and the Gaming Pad were part of Qualcomm’s GDC 2025 showcase of their newest gaming-focused chipsets, generation upgrades to the G1, G2, and G3.
AYANEO Gaming Pad
The Gaming Pad will have a full metal frame and be available in both black and white. The back casing will also be slightly transparent to show some light etches of the tablet’s internals.
During the event, Qualcomm highlighted that the device is specifically a tablet geared directly towards gaming. It features a full six-axis gyroscope, a four-speaker array, WiFi 7, a 50 MP rear camera, and a 13 MP ultrawide camera.
Mixed in with the announcement were pictures of a tablet controller attachment made by AYANEO themselves. The company has not shown or mentioned this accessory in any available media, but it looks to feature LED lights under its analog sticks that sit asymmetrically, as well as two back triggers.
AYANEO showcased the tablet alongside Qualcomm at GDC 2025. Qualcomm and AYANEO worked together in order to ship the Gaming Pad with their most performant chip which was announced yesterday — the Snapdragon G3 Gen 3.
That wasn’t the only announcement, however.
AYANEO Pocket 2S
A few days ago, we reported on the pre-announcement of the AYANEO Pocket S2. Also during GDC 2025, along with the Gaming Pad, Qualcomm premiered the AYANEO Pocket S2 and shared that it too will feature the Snapdragon G3 Gen 3.
The device uses a similar form factor to that of the first Pocket S and will house a 6.3-inch 1440p IPS display. The inclusion of the G3 Gen 3 should also provide 30% and 28% better performance from the CPU and GPU, respectively, over the previous generation G3.
AYANEO has been working on multiple larger projects that are all launching somewhat close to one another. The Pocket S2, Gaming Pad, and AYANEO 3 have all been shown off recently and have major differences that make them stand apart from one another.
So Many Handhelds, So Many Options
The Gaming Pad is a tablet, the Pocket S2 is a flagship horizontal gaming handheld, and the AYANEO 3 is a modular vertical handheld. The AYANEO Pocket ACE was teased earlier this month, and little information is known about it other than it being a “retro handheld” as opposed to an all encompassing gaming handheld.
The new Snapdragon G1 Gen 2 will be in the processor found in the upcoming Retroid Pocket Classic, and positions itself as a capable, yet budget-friendly gaming handhelds. It is possible that, with the announcement of both the chipset and the device being so relatively close together, we may see an AYANEO offering feature the chipset in the near future.
With AYANEO showing off a plethora of devices, introducing a new tablet among them, it positions the company as much more than simply one focused on making handhelds, but rather, a company focused on altering the landscape for gaming.
Previously, AYANEO had been characterized as a company solely set on wrapping powerful chips in beautifully designed handhelds. With the devices above and the showcases we’ve seen recently, it seems AYANEO is using design and engineering to shoehorn a future where all gaming styles are highlighted and taken as seriously as their peers.
