In a recent post on the Indiegogo campaign page, the company provided exactly what many of us have been hoping for. AYANEO says that production is “scheduled to start” in 11 days, on March 17, with shipments slated to begin at the “end of March.”
The post goes on to provide an update for those who previously requested “accessory refunds,” stating that “the bulk refund process will officially start on March 15th.” And if you don’t see the refund within 7 business days, reach out to the support staff to get the issue rectified.
Despite being announced last Summer and the G3 Gen 3 model being available for months, AYANEO has largely remained quiet about the Pocket Fit ELITE. For reference, the last update on the official Pocket Fit Indiegogo campaign page was back on January 20. That was when the company provided a $15 coupon to backers of either the G3 Gen 3 or 8 Elite Pocket Fit, while those in the latter camp were also said to be receiving a “Pocket FIT Elite Gift Pack.”
One surprising thing to note about this most recent update is that AYANEO doesn’t make mention of when, or even if, it plans to make the Pocket Fit Elite available for purchase. As it currently stands, the Indiegogo campaign is not accepting new pledges, and the online AYANEO storefront doesn’t even have the Pocket Fit Elite listed.
That being said, we have been noticing a few Pocket Fit Elite models starting to show up on AliExpress from a variety of different storefronts. However, we would probably err on the side of caution here and just hold steady. Considering that AYANEO says manufacturing isn’t starting for almost two weeks, it’s highly unlikely that these random storefronts actually have the handheld readily available to ship.
Given everything that has happened in the world of AYANEO over the past six months, needless to say, we’ll be keeping a close watch on the situation as it unfolds.
