We have to admit, between the RG34XXSP and the forthcoming RG Slide, it was a bit odd to see Anbernic release the RG35XX Pro. Especially when you consider that it’s basically just a BatleXP G350 with different colors and an H700 chip. That being said, this might be the best handheld for beginners, as it has all of the features you would want, along with a few extras. With that in mind, if you want to get the “lay of the land,” here’s our RG35XX Pro Setup Guide to help get you started.

Game Room or RA Game?
When it comes to emulation on retro handhelds, performance varies depending on the platform. This is why you see things like Game Room or RA Game on the RG35XX Pro.
But which should you choose?
To put it simply, Game Room is where all of the standalone emulators, such as PPSSPP for PSP or DraStic for Nintendo DS. Meanwhile, RA Game is where you’ll find all of the available RetroArch cores.
As for which one to choose, it depends on which system you’re trying to play. For the most part, RetroArch is the answer, but when it comes to those more powerful systems, then Game Room is the way to go.
How Can I Add a Second microSD Card?

Custom Firmware
It shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, but there are already a few custom firmware solutions available for the RG35XX Pro. That’s one of the benefits of Anbernic sticking with the H700 chip; however, you might run into a few quirks given the dual joysticks.

- microSD card
- Windows, macOS, or Linux PC
- Package Manager (7-Zip for Windows)
