The Anbernic RG DS is finally, and officially, available for pre-order from either Anbernic directly or AliExpress! It retails for $99, but for a limited time, you can save a few bucks and get one for either $93 or $96, depending on where you pre-order one from.

Thanks to the surprise listing that appeared on AliExpress earlier this week, we already had a pretty good idea of what to expect in terms of specs. But in case you missed it, here’s the full spec sheet:

This marks the first retro handheld to be released using the RockChip RK3568, so it’s a little bit of uncharted territory in terms of performance. However, based on the videos Anbernic previously shared of the RG DS, we can expect to play DS games with ease along with some lighter 3DS titles.
It’s kind of refreshing seeing that Anbernic opted to go with some of the colors that match up with various offerings from Nintendo’s DS Lite lineup. However, I’m also hopeful that we could see even more colors released, depending on how well the RG DS sells.
As we mentioned before, pre-orders for the RG DS are now open, and you can grab one using one of the buttons below. And according to Anbernic’s landing page, the RG DS “is expected to ship in sequence before December 15, 2025.”
