Analogue has announced that the upcoming Analogue 3D will be delayed.
Shortly after its initial announcement, Analogue proclaimed that the device would begin shipping in late 2024. The first delay saw that date moved to Q1 2025. The second delay, the current one, placed the new expected ship date in June 2025.
Analogue Delay History
Over the past five years, Analogue has delayed every single one of their releases for both software and hardware at least once.
The Analogue Pocket, originally announced in 2019, didn’t reach customers until December 2021. Every software update for the console has either been delayed or outright canceled. CRT filters and OpenFPGA were initially planned for 2021 but didn’t reach the console until July 2022. Analogue DAC support was entirely scrapped after the company removed all mention of it from the site after the Analogue 3D was announced.
Analogue is notorious for announcing products, updates, and fixes, giving them an expected date of arrival, and then shortly before that date arrives or the window closes, a delay is announced. It has happened to the Analogue Pocket, Duo, and every update for their respective firmware.
3D Actually Means Delay, Delay, Delay
With the announcement of a delay on the 3D, it follows a similar path. The 3D was slated to be released in Q1 2025, and that window closes on March 31, 2025.
With no other updates for the console, images shared, or more information offered as far as if the console will deliver 4K via upscaling or changing the N64’s internal resolution, gamers are still left to wonder. Beyond that, Analogue also announced a new OS will be found on the device — Analogue OS — and the company has also kept it quiet on any details or further information beyond the initially shared teaser images.

It’s rare to see a single company face so many rampant delays time and time again, but it’s become synonymous with the brand at this point. Outside of delays, the company has gained a reputation for charging high prices for the Analogue Pocket when utilizing a different shell. For example, their aluminum series devices cost $500 when the original device had a shelf price of $200.
As more news from Analogue is released, we’ll be sure to share it directly with you all, but the expectation for things to be timely has long left the realm of reality.
