Abxylute has been on a roll in 2025, with devices like the Abxylute One Pro, 3D One, and the M4 Controller. However, the company has one more surprise in store for everyone before we start the new year, as the Abxylute E1 has arrived. But if you take a closer look, it sure seems like we’ve seen something similar already.
Before getting too ahead of myself, the Abxylute E1 is the company’s first “Dual OS” handheld, as it can be used with either Android or Linux. This is largely made possible by the chipset, as the E1 is powered by the tried-and-true RockChip RK3566, which we all know is a Ban favorite.
Abxylute E1 Specs
- Display:Â 3.5-inch IPS, 640 x 480
- Processor:Â RockChip RK3566
- GPU:Â Mali-G52 MP2
- RAM:Â 2GB LPDDR4
- Storage: microSD Card (up to 512GB)
- Battery: 3,000mAh (~5 hours)
- Connectivity:Â USB-C OTG, HDMI Out, 3.5mm Audio Jack
- Audio:Â Dual 8A/1W Cavity Speakers
- OS: Android + Linux for flexible gameplay and emulator access
You can see the complete spec-sheet above, as the RK3566 is joined by 2GB of RAM and a microSD card slot for storage. The E1 is equipped with a 3,000mAh battery, which Abxylute rates will last for up to five hours on a single charge, and takes two hours to re-charge.
In reality, it’s pretty much what you can expect from any other RK3566 retro handheld on AliExpress or Amazon. That being said, this one immediately stood out to us, as it looked really familiar, as soon we saw it.
As it turns out, it’s because we have seen the Abxylute E1 before, but just in the form of the Game Console RX6H. The RX6H was released earlier this year, and our own e-waste overlord, Nick, actually reviewed this handheld back in March. So if you want to get an idea of what you can (mostly) expect, be sure to check out his review.
I say “mostly,” because there are two major differences between the Abxylute E1 and the RX6H. The latter is powered by the RK3266 paired with 1GB of RAM, with the latter getting an upgrade to the RK3566 and 2GB of RAM.
As for price, the Abxylute E1 is trying to capitalize on the retro handheld boom, with a current retail price of $69. Although, the listing page suggests this is just a sale price, with the full retail price coming in at $89. Meanwhile, you can snag the RX6H from AliExpress for anywhere between $29 (with a coupon code) and $43, again with a coupon code.
