Have you been looking around at the various pocketable retro handhelds and wishing for a new version of the RG280V? Well, it looks like you’ll soon be in luck, but it won’t be thanks to Anbernic. Instead, the Powkiddy V10 has been announced, looking to fill all of your mini handheld needs.

Update #2: Pre-orders Are Now Live!

Powkiddy V10 Color Array

Of course, it happened at a random time, but you can now pre-order the Powkiddy V10. It’s available in four different colors, as the Transparent White is mysteriously missing, and you can get one with either a 64GB or 128GB microSD card.

The 64GB version is $39.99, while the 128GB is priced at $49.99. However, you can save $5 when pre-ordering courtesy of Powkiddy’s “618 Summer Shopping Festival.” So hit the button below and grab one before supplies run out!

Powkiddy V10

We’ve heard and seen mentions of the Powkiddy V10 over the past week or two, but Powkiddy put the rumors to bed. In a blog post on the official Powkiddy website, the company gave us all a glimpse at what’s to come from its next retro handheld.

Powkiddy V10 specs

  • Display: 3.5-inch IPS / 480 x 320
  • Processor: RK3326, Cortex-A35 @ 1.5GHz
  • GPU: Mail-G31
  • Memory: 1GB DDR3L RAM
  • Storage: microSD Card Up to 256GB
  • Battery: 3000mAh, 100% in 2 hours, USB-C “Fast Charging”

There’s not really too much to get excited about when it comes to the specs. The Powkiddy V10 won’t blow your socks off in terms of performance, including support for N64, PlayStation, and PSP.

However, the main focus of the V10 is offering a superb GBA experience. Powkiddy notes that the V10’s display “has reached double point-to-point full frame operation.”

A couple of other notable features include the 3,000mAh battery, which Powkiddy claims supports both Type-C charging and OTG. As for charging, the Powkiddy V10 is said to be able to go from 0-100% in two hours.

Powkiddy V10 Battery and Triggers

Lastly, the V10 uses an “ergonomic trigger design,” with these looking pretty similar to what’s on the RGB20SX. We just have to hope that they aren’t hilariously over-sized, or I’ll be looking to swap them out for 3D-printed ones.

UPDATE: The Powkiddy V10 Listing Goes Live!

A little over a week after announcing the V10, we’ve learned more about this upcoming handheld. There’s finally a landing page on the Powkiddy website, showing us the price and what configurations it will come in.

It looks like the initial pre-order pricing is set at $39, with the retail price potentially being $59. Powkiddy has a tendency of offering pre-order discounts when it releases a new handheld, so this comes as little surprise. What is a surprise, however, is that if the V10 is only $39, then that will definitely spark some excitement.

Now, we just have to wait until Powkiddy opens the floodgates so we can pre-order one (or several).
