If you haven’t been keeping up in the Konkr saga, around the time of the announcement and subsequent sellout of the first batch of Ayaneo Pocket Micro 2’s, it was announced that another handheld would be joining the lineup in the form of the Konkr Pocket Advance. We weren’t given too much information at the time, but we were given the upper outline of the device as some sort of teaser over what we should be expecting. Fast forward to the middle of July, where the Pocket Micro 2 has sold out again and the Konkr Pocket Block still hasn’t released, and now we’re getting even more information on their latest device. All this thanks to an announcement that came across Ayaneo’s Discord and Twitter page.

Shared over on the Discord we recieved a very cryptic reveal of the Konkr Pocket Advance, or as they like to call it; the KONKR Pocket ADVANCE. Off of the first glance of what looks to be a picture taken while spinning rapidly in a chair, you can catch a glimpse of their upcoming handheld. From the shape to the size, it really looks like Ayaneo is aiming to release a fully Gameboy Advance sized and styled handheld. The only difference from the original being the inclusion of four face buttons, and I likely expect there to be extra triggers on the back if you need it.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this, as Anbernic released the RG 34XX at the beginning of 2025. So nearly a year later and a half later we’re getting a brand new GBA styled handheld. And if you were just looking for something with the small 3:2 aspect ratio, we’ve seen this across a few devices including Ayaneo’s own Pocket Micro, Micro Classic, and Micro 2 that literally just finished selling to consumers again. Personally speaking, it feels like a kick in the pants to announce another device that appeals to specific consumers that just bought your last product as well to fill the same purpose. Yes, the Micro 2 was a limited production that they brought back because of consumer demand, but it still feels awkward and stilted to do.

Regardless, if you want to know more, it sounds like there’s going to be another reveal or possibly an announcement tomorrow July 17th. So be sure to keep an eye out or even tune into the Ayaneo YouTube channel with your morning free in case they decide to do a livestream for it. I’m certainly interested in what they’ll be putting into this small of a form factor. But we can only wait and see now.
