New Detail Discussion

The most exciting thing, and thus the first one covered, is that massive custom 9.06″ OLED screen. With a resolution of 2400×1504, along with adjustable 60Hz / 90Hz / 120Hz / 144Hz / 165Hz refresh rates, AYANEO definitely delivers on their promise of a top-tier display. I had previously speculated that we’d be looking at an 8.4″ 2560 x 1600 IPS display, similar to the one in the AYANEO Kun, and instead, we get a massive custom OLED.

We’ve also got some details on the battery that’s going to be in the AYANEO Next 2. We’ve got a 115wh high-capacity battery which, when coupled with the dual cooling fans and high efficiency fins found inside the device, helps the AYANEO Next 2 sustain a stated 85W TDP performance output.

Similar to the AYANEO Kun, the Next 2 will feature dual customizable touchpads, which will support customizable key mapping and intuitive gesture controls. We know that the large analogue sticks are Hall Effect, along with the triggers that also feature dual-mode trigger locks for additional customization. We’ve also got four rear buttons, similar to the Steam Deck, to go along with two customizable function buttons near the left and right shoulder buttons.

What’s Next

As is pretty par for the course for AYANEO, we’re still being drip-fed information regarding the Next 2. Both a lot and a little was shown today, as we have some more information on that beautiful screen and battery consumption, but we still don’t have any details on a release date or pricing. As we learn more, we’ll be sure to share this information with everyone.
