Hot off the heels of the MagicX XU40, MagicX are teasing the community with a short clip of the upcoming Touch One 35 running some PS Vita games at full speed. The clip shows promise, hinting at a strong pocketable device in the (presumably) budget market. That said, the games shown in the video aren’t particularly difficult to run, and PS Vita emulation is still in its infancy, so we still don’t suggest buying this device primarily for the system.
Officially revealed earlier this year, details on the MagicX Touch One 35 are few and far between. We do know it has a 960 x 640 display with an aspect ratio of 3:2, as well as a second D-pad on the face of the device, great for TATE gaming.
While RAM and storage have not been revealed, they have mentioned that the Touch One 35 will be fitted with a MediaTek Helio P65 that is known for balancing decent performance with light power consumption. Like the XU40, the Touch One 35 looks to fill in a gap in the market. It should work well for Nintendo DS emulation, too!
While the device has been announced for quite some time, the new footage comes just as another company, which many in the community claim to be related to MagicX, has recently announced their three upcoming devices. This other manufacturer provided only slightly more detail for its handhelds, with official photos and an intended cost for at least one of its models, while MagicX’s teaser provided similarly vague details on their device.
For now, the preview of PS Vita emulation and dual-D-pad design has put the MagicX Touch One 35 on the map. We’ll update the community here when the company shares a formal announcement on the device, at which point we’ll presumably know full specs, pricing, and availability.
For now, you can purchase the XU40 here, and read about some of MagicX’s other devices, like the recently redesigned XU Mini Zero 28 and a pair of mysterious upcoming clamshells.
