Greetings everyone! Mikhailov here with another look at what games we played this week.

This week: What’s with all the Retroid Pocket Flip 2s? Almost everyone is playing on one. Can’t say I blame them. It’s an amazing handheld.

We’re also interested in what games you’re playing. Use the button below to let us know, and you may be featured in this weekly article.

Zu — Lamborghini American Challenge

Lamborghini American Challenge on Retroid Pocket Flip 2

Playing GOTW because GOTX is life. People who deviate from it will be punished.

Stubbs — Rogue Trip

Rogue Trip on Retroid Pocket Flip 2

This is a car combat game with a dash of Crazy Taxi made by the Twisted Metal 2 devs (SingleTrac), with the same engine but with improvements. You not only take out your opponents, but you also pick up tourists and show them the sights for cash to buy upgrades! Freaking awesome game, with a soundtrack that includes the Mighty Mighty Bosstones!

Nick — Midnight Club LA Remix

Midnight Club LA Remix on Retroid Pocket Flip 2

It’s a ton of fun, and makes me want a hot dog.

Ban — Wreckfest

Wreckfest on Retroid Pocket Flip 2

I’m not too far in, but I’m enjoying the game a bunch so far. I’ve finally taken a break from my Portmaster quest to swap over to Android and play some other ports.

Bas — Pokemon Crystal

Pokemon Crystal Translation on Analogue Pocket

After a year of working on it, my Dutch localization of Pokémon Crystal is done! I’ll mostly be guiding my oldest kid through his first run – he’s too young to understand the English version.

  1. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Dave the Diver, Metal Slug 4.

Ive been playing FF7Rb for a bit but definitely love to mix it up with retro games. DTD is new but plays like a retro and is great so far! Who can go wrong with the MEtal Slug series??? Working my way thru all of them again, and I love it!

  2. Super Metroid Redux on the 40xx.

Redux has a “hard” mode and the option to increase gravity so Samus feels similar to the GBA games. It’s a great time 👍

    • That sounds great! I may need to give the game another try with that. Are playing for GOTM or just for fun? Care if we may feature your answer in our article in the future?

  3. Strife, Super Metroid, Devil may Cry. Basically all 3 GOTM I beat. Wendy as well in GOTW. But my banger now is The Godfather for PS2, the offer that I just can’t refuse

  4. did they finally finish the translation of star ocean: blue sphere? or is stubbs playing the unfinished translation that’s been out for a while?

  5. Just finished Pokémon Fire Red on my 35xx SP, and I’m currently playing Outer Wilds in my Steam Deck. What an amazing game!!!

  6. Chained Echoes on Steam Deck OLED

Picked it up on sale recently and have been hooked. The retro aesthetic combined with a ton of quality of life improvements over the classics makes it a big win in my book.

  7. How is Vampire Survivors still relevant almost 3 years later? Because they keep adding updates and free DLC, and the DLC is very inexpensive but immensely fun.

  8. I just modded my old OLED Ps Vita not long ago, so right now is Silent Hill Origins. After that:
    -Silent Hill Shattered Memories
    -Parasite Eve 1-2
    -Steins Gate
    -Patapon
.. and soo many other cool games.

  9. Midnight Club 3 looking especially crisp on that OLED screen! Wish my RP4P had one like that, can’t upgrade to the 5 just yet but I’ve got Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones to keep me busy till then

  10. A little bit of Doom I – Ultimate on my Miyoo Mini Plus, but mainly a game called trying to get NextUI running on my Trimui Smart Pro (which I did with extra pak’s though ports not working and NDS has a annoying clicking sound glitch)
